So, an Atheist, Agnostic or Other has to dress like a Muslim (or some other religion) to get equal treatment, but the Muslim can't be treated equal to the masses because that's wrong.

Baptist --> Muslim = Equal Treatment
Muslim --> Baptist = BIGHORSESHITISSUE!!!

I'd approve of this. Show up with pics of yourself naked pre hand so that you can just cruise to your seat.

There's no reason to search your headgear if you're not wearing any. The other things (like requesting a patdown over a scan, and being examined in a private room) are available to anyone who requests them.

I'd like to see a Jackass where Partyboy tries going through security in only his thong.

I wish I could be edgy enough to hate things that are popular.

This is what you don't get. Muslims are members of the masses. The purpose of law is to treat all members of the masses equally.

Equal doesn't mean exemption from laws, it means enforcement of the law in accordance with everyone's superstitions, whatever they may be.

"Pat yourself down, make sure you do a good job. All clear here!"

The bit Eturnal initially quoted makes me think it does provide an exemption. If "the area in question" for a woman wearing a hijab is just the bit obscured by the headscarf (and none of the rest of her body) then the "area in question" for anyone not wearing one is none of their body and the entire procedure doesn't take place.

Or am I misreading it?

That's the same way I read it. I've been searching the TSA's website for some clarification but I heard on the news last night the TSA is pretty hush-hush on all this because they say it can be a security threat.

I think we're discussing the principle at this point, because really, no one actually gets "searched", merely inconvenienced. I feel pretty confident I could get a hand grenade past security.

I guess the BBC doesn't actually report on the patdowns, right?

Plus, you couldn't get a hand grenade past those security checkpoints. Try it. If you do, I'll give you $1000. I promise.
