I'm not saying I love the guy, but pretty much when I hear people endlessly raging about Obama (blah blah he's a socialist, he's ruining the country etc.) this is what I think of:

Pretty much. Whenever I happen to look over my dad's shoulder when he's on the computer, he's usually reading one of those Tea Party "THIS ISN'T AMERICA BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE IN GOD WE TRUST PLASTERED ALL OVER IT" propaganda emails. Most are misinterpretations of Sharia law, some are falsified "investigations" of Obama's family history, and others are extremist versions of the chain emails your mom forwards to you.

Most of his conservative Christian friends are exactly like South Park portrays them to be. Fat, stupid, and only concerned with their own one-dimensional realities.

Stupid people (edit: and/or misguided folks) are on both sides... it's best to ignore them or at least try to drop some hints to them.

My favorite was the email about how Obama is the antichrist based on what it says "in the book of Revelations".

I came down on my mother hard about that, not for her political views (who cares), but because if she has spent her entire life being a devout southern baptist and always gets on my case about finding religion, then she should damn well know what is and is not in the fucking bible, and none of the things in that email were actually in there.

I seem to remember that in that South Park episode, Cartman was pretending to be what he thought a "dumb redneck" was, and that the "dumb rednecks" were incredibly perplexed and offended by his behavior.

If you guys want to link the absolute dumbest people you can find saying stupid things on the internet and act as if they're actually representative of people who have legitimate complaints about Obama's policies, it would be wise to remember that there's eight years of retarded from your side of the aisle we could easily pull up and post in response. That's not even counting every MSNBC clip on Youtube with Olberman and Maddow...speaking of which:

The left, for eight years, called out a terrible president who was plunging us into debt with every year of his term. A president who initiated two wars, one of which being ridiculously unnecessary and costly, based on an event that couldn't be traced back to an individual state. While some of the criticism may have gone too far on the parts of certain individuals, the vast majority of it was founded upon fact.

The right, for the last two years, has continuously blocked any form of economic rehabilitation or social progress. The majority of publicized right-wing journalists base their stories on sensationalism and misrepresented statistics in order to strike fear into their readers'/viewers' hearts.

The right, for the last two years, has circulated propaganda that attempts to brainwash possible voters into a worked-up political frenzy. The unrecognized conservative activist base repeatedly calls out any member of the opposing side for being un-American, even though they themselves tend to infringe upon others' constitutional rights moreso than anyone has ever done to them.

The Tea Party especially seeks to cut down American progressivism in favor of their fundamentalist Christian values. While they claim that their rights are being assaulted by far-left political agendas, they're denying people their personal freedom and social equality.


I'd think that the far left is a bit less pronounced than the far right, no?
