Do they not do calculus in high school anymore? I'm pretty sure I had at least some, although that was in OAC at the time (if you're old enough to remember when high schools had OAC).
Down here, Calculus in high school is dependent on placement. I took Calc (calc 1, that is) in high school, and again in my first semester as an engineer. I'm surprised whatever program Jushiro is doing doesn't make them take Calc their first semester.
