What's your plans and what's on the menu? Pictures/Videos of the feast earn extra points! :)

I'm doing nothing this Thanksgiving. Family is all across the country, recently single... I think I'll get a roast beef sandwich from the deli down the street if they're open.

If we lived closer I would refuse to let this happen.

Spending the day with my mom's side of the family.

Which is awesome because they didn't have 1000 family members.

Just started a pot roast.
Going back downtstairs in like 10 minutes to start on my two desserts: Apple Cheesecake and a Candied Butternut Squash pie.
Also making gnocci in a sage cream sauce.

Not sure what the other 3 families coming are bringing, lol.

I woke up early today so I could get to my parents' house and deliver some stuff for my mom, and because I was selected for silver polishing duty.

Thankfully, my silver polishing skills from last year were so awesome I had pretty much nothing to do this morning. This gave me an excuse to escape back to my house for a few hours.

We're having a Greenberg smoked turkey, oyster casserole, haricots verts with prosciutto, fresh gravy from stock, cornbread stuffing, and some other random small dishes. We also have an apple pie and a chocolate meringue pie from an amazing little hill country bakery.

There should only be 7 people for the meal, and it should be a good time.

Dek you're invited.

Most of my family went to northern NY for the funeral of my grandmother tomorrow. I couldn't get off work to go with them, so it's some yummy tilapia instead of turkey.

Luckily, I'm staying isolated with my immediates this year. Last year I had to go out to the boonies in Georgia, which was absolute hell. The food was terrible, the people we visited were fat, and their dogs were horribly annoying.

The menu for today is:

Brunch - Raisin English muffins w/ cinnamon butter
Snacks - Ritz crackers with Lipton onion dip (we're classy like that)
Rum doughnuts
Dinner - Traditional turkey (HOW ORIGINAL) w/ cranberry and crouton-infused Bell's Stuffing
Butternut squash
Corn on the cob imported from western MA
Mashed potatoes w/ gravy
French style homecooked green beans
Dessert - Homemade cranapple pie
Chocolate chip cheesecake
Triple-chocolate homemade brownies w/ vanilla-chocolate frosting

nomnomnomnomnom

My mommy is making me food.
I'm going to go see them soon.
Happyface.

I never realized how much I loved home cooking until I moved out, I'm broke all the time so I don't have money to buy anything but noodles and the like.

Doing what I do most years, which is having dinner with some Swiss friends + handful of other foreigners. It's still Thanksgiving in that it's an excuse to eat from 4 to 8, it's just not very American.

Lol, you're the third person to invite me to Thanksgiving and the only one I would accept from, and the only one that I can't accept from.

The other two: my ex, and a weird girl at work who was just being nice.

I'm going to a big family dinner with my Kentucky/Tennessee side tonight (which kind of sucks since my cousin-in-law is a minister meaning that there won't be any booze).

Saturday I'm cooking a big dinner with my momma for 15 other people.

Menu:
Appetizer - My french friend is making brie en croute.

Main Dishes
Six-Herb Roasted Turkey
Honeybaked Ham (since its 2 of us cooking for so many people)

Giblet Gravy (family recipe)
Cranberry Relish
Johnnycake
Michael Symon's Ohio Creamed Corn with Bacon
Garlic-Lemon Sauteed Green Beans
Five-Spice Sweet Potatoes
White Bread and Cornbread Stuffing (family recipe)

Desserts:
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie (i think)
Pecan Pie
21 year old Benromach

We're also having 6 or 7 bottles of wine, 2 cases of Yuengling my friend picked up in Georgia, and some Riesling I bought on the Rhine in Germany.

RETIRED.
