My wife gave birth to Chase Wilder at 2:43pm EST today. He was 7lb 14oz and 19" long. (To our surprise, he has six toes on each foot... but they'll probably get the extras removed since they kinda look like off-shoots off the pinky toe!) Now that I've got a little boy I'm finding my self more and more scared since I've never had small children in my life. I never had brothers. I've lived far away from my extended family. My friends didn't have any smaller siblings. My wife was the youngest in her group. Neither of us have babysit before, either. I've never changed a diaper, folded a receiving blanket, dressed a baby, etc.

If any of you parents have any advice, tips, tricks or suggestions you can offer me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Oh, when do we get to sleep?

i'll let dr cosby sum it up for you.

whole standup is hilarious, but from like part 5 to the end has bits and pieces of parenthood and is 100% true, at least from my experience.

Grats! And yeah, it's called polydactylism, like Usd said it's common and there's no enduring side effects.

Just be sure to love it a lot =D

Remember, the greatest gift - the single most powerful, enduring advantage in life - you can give your child is a love of reading.

congratulations!

just love him and take care of him. honestly it's more than some parents do these days. my cousin's child won't eat if you hold her, she has to be sat by herself with her bottle propped on a blanket. i guess holding her while she eats is too much work. :/

Girl i went to school with had extra little toes. God knows why. I don't know if she since got them removed but she was 17 when i saw them.

I want to give advice you see, but being the oldest of 6 kids and working with several milfs with young children doesn't make me an expert.

Definitely err on the side of taking baby to doctor whenever you or mum are even remotely concerned. My youngest brother wouldn't be alive today if Dad and stepmum didn't do this. This is probably common sense, but i feel the need to stress it.

congrats on your wife gaining momentarily larger breasts (to which i hope you took full advantage of) and the birth of your 1st born child....expect Blizzard to be stopping by sometime later this month to fulfill your part of their contract.

But in all honestly bro, gartz expect little sleep and work the schedule into day by day who takes care of the baby nights.

Remember, Shaking a baby does make it shut up momentarily but dropping it works much better.

Also this is why i'm debating on adopting and get getting my junk snipped.

totally in agreement with aestu(please no one quote me)

Reading has been an everlasting joy in my life and will until I go blind. Then: audio books!

Eturnal, your kid, when it learns to walk and talk, is going to do and say some really funny stuff. My mom kept a journal detailing stuff my brother and i did back when we were cute and cuddly and unintentionally hilarious, I think you should too.

Don't eat it until it's a few weeks old.

They're better that way.
