Yeah, I'd say that Rocko's Modern Life was the last real cartoon that didn't care about political correctness. I mean, it was a kids' cartoon that had obvious masturbation jokes. How great is that?

I think i enjoy the adult swim cartoons now more than I enjoyed the kid cartoons back then.

However, street fighter, mortal kombat and wing commander on USA were really enjoyable.

Still, Archer is my favorite right now.

Where does Ren & Stimpy fall into that?

Also have you seen that show they used to air awhile back Invader Zim?

Shit is demented.

Yeah, I never really got into Ren and Stimpy (or Zim) but I've heard a lot of shit about both. I know that Ren and Stimpy had unrated DVDs that came out a few years ago, though, which implies that there's content networks refused to air.

Haha I'm particularly fond of George Jetson's quip about women drivers:

Jane: "I'm sick of taking the bus, I want to learn how to drive, George"

George: "absolutely not, I will not be held responsible for putting another woman driver on the skyway!"

Ren n Stimpy was originally meant for adults, but they couldn't sell it.

So they toned it down and landed with Nick (IIRC).

They later did episodes for Spike (IIRC), where it was a the full adult version of the show.

The adult version of the show was 90% gross humor and 10% sex jokes. I did not care for it as much as the zany kid's version.

Mostly because I was too busy being grossed out to laugh.

PS.

I never got the memo where shows from the late 90's and early 00's were "classics".

Good, someone else said it first so I didn't have to be that guy.

Tex Avery cartoons are a fucking classic. Ren and Stimpy, not so much.
