How cool is this? Looks like you'll need to mix in some cardio with your normal weight regimen, and your running pals should toss in some weight-training. This looks like a test to your all-around fitness. Might I suggest you let those hammerheads who are trying to actually win this thing move on ahead of your team. lol. Good luck on this. GOOTHADS!!
Yeah exactly.
My current regiment is 45 minutes of mixing cardio with lifting. I do 30 seconds on the treadmill/bike then 30 seconds on a variety of weight machines. None stop for 45 minutes. The goal is to keep my heart rate between 130 and 150 which I am able to do no problem.
AFter that I spend about 20 minutes on three different ab machines, then pec/deltoid machines and 1 calf machine.
I tend to stay away from free weights.
The guys on my team are almost solely runners. They do about 5 miles a day before work on the beach. But no weight training.
The interesting thing about this "Race" is that on their FAQ they state specifically that there is no winner. They do not keep track of time. The whole goal of the exercise is hard work and teamwork. Many of the events are about your team working together and keeping each other going.
