He proved it with Religulous, which I think was supposed to be taken seriously. He spends two hours doing an actual thoughtful documentary then blows it in the last five minutes by summarizing with "all these crazy fuckers believe in the end of the world and want to bring it about for their rewards," only to go on and say that he also believes in the end of the world, only with Maher the boogey-man isn't the devil, it's everyone who doesn't agree with Bill Maher about the pointlessness of religion.
Did you even watch the movie?
A-duh, yeah, that's why the last five-ten minutes were such a fucking let-down. Up until that, I was thinking, "Man, it looks like Bill Maher has complete redeemed himself."
Then he completely fuckerized what could have been a defining work that would have raised him from the level of saying things just to be controversial to serious commentator. Like Dagery said, he's a comedian, maybe the movie was a set-up for the last five minutes or so to be a punch-line, and I just didn't get it. Art is like that.
