Homosexuality occurs in animals, and animals can't make choices. It's a biological condition. I'm not digging up the thread because I don't come here to do work, but Laelia was pretty thorough and he's our only poster with a) a background in biology and b) a Ph.D.
I highly doubt anyone who enjoys receiving gives a shit about Jewish mysticism.
You say it is innate then, that they are born homosexual? I disagree.
I will update my reasons in a sec with reasons for proof to say otherwise, currently healing a heroic sfk atm.
One thing I also plan to address is the following: Just because someone has a PhD doesnt mean they are always correct.
The rest of the stuff, I have no clue what you are speaking of, but finally you have chosen to see that I have been posing a reason as to why people are gay through learned experiences.
Do you have a background in biology or a PhD? Because unless you have some sort of elaborate research project to start up on homosexuality's innateness, you're wrong.
Yes, nature vs. nurture is an ongoing debate, but homosexuality and bicurious tendencies are biologically inherited. Homophobia and being a faggot, on the other hand, are no doubt learned behaviors based on environmental factors.
Exhibit A: Johnny, 20, has finally come to terms with the fact that he's gay after years of asexuality. He doesn't know why he's gay, but he has a strong sexual attraction to men rather than women. However, Johnny was never immersed in any part of gay culture and acts like your average straight male at all times. Johnny is a gay man, but is not a faggot. This was HIGHLY LIKELY to have been caused by biological means rather than environmental means.
Exhibit B: Sam, also 20, denied the fact that he was gay for all of his teenage years. However, he was the most feminine boy out of all of his peers, refusing to shower in gym class and acting like a stereotypical queen throughout middle and high school. Once he graduated, the years of constant bullying took their toll on his psyche, causing him to rapidly turn into what I refer to informally as a faggot. He's whiny, overly feminine, and acts like an over-the-top teenage girl at all times.
While both men weren't necessarily immersed in any facet of gay culture throughout their teenage years, Sam unconsciously knew about his inherent sexuality but preferred to keep it bottled up for years. On the other end of the scale is Johnny, who kept out of the dating scene until he realized his true sexuality and even then acted like your average "red-blooded American" in most aspects of his daily life. Both, however, were gay from the beginning of their respective genital stages in their psychosexual development.
My point, if there really is one to be made, is that being gay is NOT a choice. The only thing one's environment affects is the realization of their own sexuality. If a boy is brought up with a fucking lumberjack as his father, he's most likely not going to admit his true sexuality until he's out of that situation. It can go one of two ways:
1) He leaves the household and begins to normally date other men
or
2) He leaves the household and, insisting on rebellion, starts cross-dressing and/or acting like a queen
Now, I don't really see this as helping any argument in here that much, but it's still worth noting that the degree of sexuality is the only thing environment can possibly change.
I feel like that was too rambly, but yeah.
