Something I came to realize that deserves attention.

You were given the ability to moderate. Why, would any of you throw being a douche in the mix when your role is to moderate the forums?

To me it would make sense that you're trying to make sure the forums remain a fun place to revisit, but if you take anyone's opinion about the current thread being discussed at that moment and spin it back on them on a personal level, what does that say about your ability to moderate then? You take a discussion, and make a personal attack about someone, while moderating at the same time.

How is it fun for anyone when they try to be social in these forums but repeatedly get made fun of for being who they are and how they respond? Especially by the moderator. Why not just take that brief feeling you have about that person, bottle it up, edit the post that needs editing, and post a new thread about that person or even make your own post in addition to what needs editing, instead of editing the entire reply made by one individual and spinning it back to them on a personal level?


This is just one example I've noticed so far and who knows what else we'll see, but really, moderating to keep a forum board fun goes down the hole when you personally attack someone at the same time. I wouldn't have minded an edit, but using a fat joke at the same time?

That is unprecedented.

I think you're swell and all, Paddy, but...

1) Stop being sensitive about the fat thing, half (or more) of this board are poster-children for weight-loss.
2) You don't get to call people on being douche-nozzles when the thread in question starts with a picture of you being one yourself. People that sit on quest items/givers/objectives/mailboxes while mounted on anything bigger than a mechano-strider are either retarded and shouldn't play or intentionally trying to waste people's time for no good reason and shouldn't play. In short, you don't get to act like a dick then be mad because other people act like a dick in response.
3) The nature of this board is that it's moderated by its users. Asking the mods to not comment in a thread because they had to action something in it is more than a little extreme. We'd lose a lot of thread responses that way, since about 1/3 of our users are mods.

The only two complaints here (and you don't even make one of them) is that if Tuhl is going to mod your post/thread, fat joke notes to his edit are unnecessary/rude/poor form and/or that your suspension exceeds the length agreed upon in the rules.

Stop being sensitive? Why? You are saying I should have no reason to defend myself and accept who I am while at the same time, accept that every response someone makes is going to be using who I am at the same time, EVERY time? At this point, you make me feel like I wish I never shared my picture with any of you, because you exercise your ability to be retarded and douchey every chance you get, whether my points carry validity or not.

Almost every thread I have made so far has had someone say it. A user saying it is one thing, a moderator changing what I say to match the standards of the board is one thing, twisting what I say is another. Using who I am in degradation is even worse than the original post pre-edit.

Everyone has what.. like 3-5 days to get their presents? The event that I helped create lasted only for 2 hours. You realize the amount of time I took up in comparison to how long the event lasted was minimal? Less than 1% even.

Your point carries weight if someone stood on a quest giver I was trying to speak to and has no relevance to the boards here. There is no quest giver on the forums here. Merely a post about someone point out what I did on Christmas morning. Something I have done for every year that Winter Veil has been around. It isn't new.

Moderated by users, I understand, but how can a user moderate the actual thread? That trust is given to a MODERATOR. Someone with the ability to change and snip where they feel it is their right to do so. In this case, change was made. However, the fact remains, it was turned into a personal attack. Had someone gone to your "IM DRUNK THREAD ON CHRISTMAS" and changed ur entire post to "IM DRUNK LOLOLOLOL N FAT" you would have felt the same. Offended.

You want people to come to FUBU? I challenge you to go to mmo-champion.com forums and look at every moderated post.

None of it was ever personal. Everything is laid out and if lines are crossed, people are given warnings and then bans.

Successful forums. Successful moderating.

I agree that there is a difference, but I don't think the difference justifies multi-posting the same response ad nauseum. If we're going to address Tuhl's inappropriate activity (as well we should) and point out that nothing you posted justified it, it is only fair that we also point out that the appropriate response to Tuhl's behavior was not to behave inappropriately yourself. Posting the same ridiculously pointless post repeatedly did nothing to rectify the situation, and only served to make it appear as if Tuhl's actions were more appropriate than they actually were. Had you instead simply made ONE post saying, "Dude, WTF," the boards would have addressed the issue and everything would eventually be resolved.



1) No one is saying you can't respond to douchery with douchery. I'm saying you can't respond with multi-posted retardation. I'm also saying that crying foul about how you're treated after given equally reprehensible treatment to others is bullshit.

2) You make a lot of assumptions about the time other people have to spend popping in to grab presents in Ironforge during a time of year where the average person's time is monopolized by obligations to their friends and families. Just because the shit is there for three to five days doesn't mean that the people you're fucking over have three to five to spend waiting to grab it. Explain to the people for whom your "1% of the time" represented 100% of the time they had available that you're not a dipshit dickhole mouthbreather for doing that and thinking it was funny, but don't bother wasting your time trying to explain yourself to me.

3) I dont' care whether what you did was done here on the forums or not. It was fucking stupid and thoughtless and was only done so that you could take pleasure in causing grief for other people. Someone here called you on it. You furthered the conversation by responding to it. The only thing that took it over the line on anyone else's part was Tuhl's modding, which you didn't deal with appropriately. If you want to point the finger at Tuhl, that's fine, I'm sure everyone will agree with me when I say what he did was wrong, but what he did doesn't erase anything that you did wrong.



I'm pretty sure we've done more than one "LOLJUBBERURFAT" joke on these pages, even if Tuhl didn't do it while he was modding. It doesn't bother me, and that's not the point, anyway. The point is that we don't have a separate group of non-users who moderate our boards, the people who do moderate here use the boards the same as everyone else, and were elected to their positions. Do those users with mod status abuse the privilege? Yes. Should they? Fuck no. I understand you're upset about Tuhl's abusing the authority, that's justified. Throwing a tantrum about it isn't justified. I don't think the mods should (or should continue, as the case may be) abusing their mod status for laughs, but I equally think that cutting them out of threads entirely would be retarded.

It's one thing to get a rise out of people with stupid shit in trade/general chat with "WHYDOTHEYCALLITALOL360?" or "IFIT'SINVINCIBLEWHYCANISEEIT?," those are trolls (of varying quality), but what you did was something else entirely. It was stupid and inconsiderate, and if you don't realize that you should feel bad about it, I feel sorry for you. Other than that, you're right, Tuhl's actions were not appropriate, but neither were your actions in response.

A lot of your points do make sense, but I addressed them previously in the other post and conceeded to them with Yuratuhl. I was insulted and provoked into a mentality of fuck you, I am going to say random stupid shit that should be edited, instead of my QQQQQQ chain.

I still feel that moderators should edit without provoking more stupidity in a thread. Like I said, editing is fine for the standards of the board, but personal attacks while editing shouldn't be considered OKAY.

If you don't want to get made fun of, then don't act like a dick to other people.

I don't think synth has ever been the butt of personal jokes. Do you know why? Because he doesn't sit on presents and posts screenshots of it because he's trying to hard.

If you were getting sensitive to the content, maybe you should've talked coherently to the mods as opposed to getting yourself banned. We all have a good rib now and then, but when things get too personal, people have simply talked to a mod and it gets changed (ex. someone used Aestu's irl pic as an avatar, he didn't like it. He told tuhl and it got changed).

You don't have standards, and the ones that you think you stick to, you don't follow them. So if I am to take anything you say, right now, why should I?

You banned me for no reason other than for spam in one thread. A thread that I did not create but that I decided to share photos of the event being discussed since text cannot describe what pictures can. My spam was in response to moderating on a level that I didn't see felt justified.

I don't mind being made fun of for posts I make, but to use who I am as a response to reject a lot of my points is something completely different. You only agree with the ban because you have the power to do whatever the fuck you want, and I'm calling you out now because you've exercised a power that you shouldn't have according to the standards that you say you follow but that you don't. All I did was spam in a thread in response to one person moderating my post and directly attacking me at the same time, not for the reason of my bad post, but because of who I am.

Your attack isn't on me standing on presents. It is for spam. You cannot say that I am trying hard to do anything, other than pointing a finger at you for the repeated abuse of your admin powers. You have a bullshit system and you made a bullshit decision. You did this, not me.

I was wrong for spamming, and surprised that Yuratuhl was against the idea of a perm ban, but you're system is bullshit and so you are you MNS. You have a personal issue with me, and that is your problem. Since I have joined, you've wanted an excuse for me to not be here. As I stated, in another thread, I did agree that I went overboard on blowing a whistle, but you're the fucktard with no standards. I have a '45 minute moment of lol, I got edited for that?' and realized, if I am getting edited for doing this, for posting QQQQQQQQQQ over and over again, when I cause no issue to the forum, and then I get attacked on a personal level at the same time for being who I am, then I feel like giving a real reason to edit some bullshit.

I mispoke when I accused Yuratuhl for being the source of my ban. Yeah, I have fucking emotions. I am a person afterall. Your reason to ban me though is clearly unjustified.

The start of the problem began with an edit AND a personal attack from a moderator at the same time instead of a simple edit and an explanation as to why an edit was made without the negativity involved. THEN it evolved into your personal issues with me in conjunction with my issue for being edited for a reason that I didn't feel warranted that are the problem. Not my posted pictures.

If anything, I am wrong, but you are more wrong.

Assuming 5 days, or 120 hours, you took up 1/60th of the event with your actions.

That's also assuming the person is playing for 120 hours straight, or will even log on again at another time. Your actions were performed at a time when quite a few people would be initially logging in to check the presents under the tree. In addition, you maliciously warped several Christmas morning with annoyance.

If only you could see the backlash wave on the horizon...

Especially for a first time offense that was in retaliation for someone slamming who I am as a moderator while changing everything that I said instead of keeping it simple to "QQ, post edited by Yuratuhl (Please do not spam QQs next to each other as it makes the page break)"

Last I checked, you need to be over 13 to post on an internet forum.
