I'm posting this here due to it getting the most traffic and I'm not 100% on whether it should be in Meta or not, feel free to move.

I feel like we could do with a little less drama. Drama is sometimes good but in these numbers not so much. It seems like 90% of these forum posts are now people bitching about that person or this person.

While looking at it now, I don't very much like this new format, the current dickshit subsection is doing worse than the argument station was and people continue to post what probably should be there, in the general section.

I'd much prefer if it were all one big forum with maybe the exception of the meta station (you know, kinda how it was before!) for important matters and sticky/announcment post to alert the people who typically skip that section, of important events and votes.

I think the idea of flagging threads and getting upset, because it's some dumb video or directed at one person, is silly. If you don't like the content of the thread and you're not Tuhl or Jubber or whoever the thread was directed to or even if the title implies something you don't like, don't read it. If you do choose to read it, don't cry about it. No one forced you to read it you completionist nerd.

I believe silly videos or random music videos should be left in their own threads as is. Most the people who post here know there's a thread for each of them and maybe they have a reason for not posting them there. Example: I've never felt like the LARPSHIT thread was the place to discuss said material but it does happen and is sometimes lost in a pile of LARPSHIT or simply doesn't happen at all. It takes me like 2 seconds to open a thread and another 3 or so seconds to decide if I want to watch w/e the linked material is. Again, no one is forcing you to watch a 20 minute youtube video on how and why monkeys smell each other's butts.

Let's take a look at an example!

"Youtube - HOW TO CHOP YOUR DICK OFF"
Decision
A) "Oh this looks enjoyable I think I'll watch it."
B) "Wow, that sounds terrible, don't think I'll be watching it."
Result
A) "I really regret watching that video, fucking jerks I hate these fucking forums, ban everyone!"
B) "I have no input on the matter because I have no idea how bad or good that video was but it sounds like I made the right decision.

The same can be said about thread names and reading within said thread.



Basicly, I feel unless you want to seperate these boards even more (general section, lulz section, music section, WoW section, console gaming section, etc, etc), then you should just merge them all and take the good with the bad and leave the meta station outside for big buisness. You'll get some bad threads possibly but only cry babies will care. Do it and find out. I don't think we've done it yet. Who knows, if we did do this, maybe I'd eat some fkn crow but I doubt it.

Now I'm going to sleep. Maybe they'll be responses to this tomorrow, maybe not. Either way I hope that if you read all of this you do not feel it was a huge waste of time and if you feel that way I appologize. afk

Also, going to suggest if you really want high class boards, make yet another subsection which only those you want to(mns, tuhl, riki, weena, etc, etc) can post in and/or make it read only for those not able to post there.

If you dont feel like wallowing through shit, you can stick there. Feeling lucky Go with the middle class boards.

Which brings me to a fresh idea for that sub-section. Why not make a sub-section for those high brow gents, everyone is free to post and read there but that sub-section just has more rules and tighter restrictions for posts, you can call it "Arguement Station 2.0" or "The High Brow Bar & Grill".

Now that I think about it, it almost feels like the arguement station failed so horribly that it was merged here and people are trying to force it's rules and restrictions here. Well I got news for you Arguement Station, you're a jerk and you'll never win!

I'd like to motion for FUBU as:

FUBU
1. FUBU General - Anything goes.
2. The High Brow Bar & Grill - No room for dickshit here!
3. FUBU Meta Discussion - Talk about FUBU and your mods.

which I feel would be much better as opposed to what it currently is

McDonalds
1. Dining Room - The adults are trying to eat here, go fucking play in the ball pit.
2. Kitchen - Yo we cookin' up in hur, employees only. jk it's mcdonalds, come on in, idfc if you wear a hairnet
3. Playland - It smells like urine and diapers but at least we have a ball pit, video games, and a series of tubes.

Just let people post whatever, don't let them post if they're trying to be a forum alt, and lock down things that turn into just pure unadulterated flame wars with no substance.

Whatever I barely read this board anymore because it's gotten really boring since threads started being locked and then everything mildly amusing got quarantined into another forum.

From a practical standpoint, the fact is, no one visits the other forums. Separating debates/youtubeshit makes sense for a larger forum... it's a nice idea..in theory; in practice it simply doesn't work -- kind of like communism.

sometimes I wonder if I'm the only person who simply doesn't read/post in threads that don't' interest me.

I like the idea of merging all the content into one forum, however, the community did vote on this awhile back so I think the sub-forums are here to stay. At least move them WITHIN the main FUBU forum.

The benefit:
1) Sub-forums would get visibility they otherwise wouldn't have without excessive back navigation. We'd see updates in the subforums by the icon changing from ugly to ugly with color.
2) Content is still separated, but equal, so moderators can do their racist segregationist bullshit. (Some peoples posts still only count as 3/5 a post.)

The downshits:
1) Mayo will have to do something to make this happen.

I read every thread that gets marked new when I search by "posts since my last visit". It's an OCD thing.

I think I post on 1 out of 20 or so threads I read.
When these forums were first created I posted on probably 15 out of 20.

The content has gone downhill and I am not sure how or why.
Am I contributing to the problem by not posting original threads? That case could be made.
Almost every post devolves into people bitching at each other or mayo. Another percentage of them is ridden with racist/homophobic shit that not only offends me and thus makes me not want to post...but is a danger for me to even read at work as I have people in and out of my office all day.
(if the solution is to not browse at work, then you lose half of your day time readers...OR YOU CAN GET TAPATALK INTEGRATED LIKE RIKKI SUGGESTED MONTHS AGO)

I think that as long as the content continues to be overwhelmingly filled with garbage, you won't see increased activity or an end to the downward spiral of fighting and complaining that we are in currently.

Forums need moderators, that is how it is. Trying to justify why you guys moderate stuff is pointless. You are moderators for a reason. To keep content readable. To stop fighting. To weed out unnecessary posts. IS that opinion-based and thus some people will not agree with you? Absolutely. You cannot make everyone happy. Including me, I do not agree with 90% of the crap that comes out of Mayo's mouth, and just some of the stuff that tuhl says. But if I don't like it...I Can just simply leave.

Stop whining about every little thing. Your post getting edited by a moderator on a private forum is not a great injustice to the world, no matter how hard you try to make it that.
