Tol Barad
•Winning as an attacker now rewards players with 1800 Honor Points, up from 180. Winning as a defender still rewards players with 180 Honor Points.

Smells like a bribe. ;]

Column is mindless bitching

TB is a boring zergfest, but to a great extent that's what players said they wanted - an HK farming park - and it's not practical to make an AV-type deal or a conventional BG paradigm in what is a quasi-instanced battle royale.

Really, I think this is a good change, and Tol Barad stands to be very good at what it is.

Most of my fondest pvp memories are of mindlessly zerging in AV. If you want some sort of megabalanced e-sport, go play a game that's actually balanced around player-player combat.

This. The best part of AV was always the fighting that went on at the choke point prior to Stormpike. Sure, the Ice and Forest Lord were fun too, as were the actual mechanics of the BG, but the feeling of being able to repel/push through enemy lines was what made it special. Strategically capping a sequence of nodes on a map may let you win, but where's the fun in that?

Zergfests are only boring when you're not a warrior with 3 healers killing everything in sight.

We don't want to put any sort of thought into this.

Have some free kills, and maybe get to do the instance once a month.

One-shotting people with shadowbolts through that mountain by Stormpike GY while they were busy with Beel and Nk was pretty rewarding.
