It amazes me when people get mad about PvP on a PvP server.

I get mad at the whole "Red = Dead" mentality.

I generally try to evaluate each potential PvP situation individually:

If someone is clearly just questing, and I'm questing...and we're just trying to get shit done, I generally won't fuck with that person, as long as they don't mess with me.

If someone pisses me off (steals a mob I was going to pull, or ninjas an herb that I was obviously clearing for)....then yes, I will attack them.

Also, I am okay with PvP when it's a fair fight. If someone is taunting me, or dotting me from a rooftop or something...I might play around with them a bit, which usually leads to an organized duel outside of the sanctuary limits.

Defensive PVP - If I see a fellow alliance in need (ESPECIALLY if they are getting 2v1 killed...then I will always jump in to help).


Things About PvP That Piss Me Off:

1. Any out-number situation. If it's 3 horde versus me as a spriest...that is in no way fair, and just lame. Get some balls and face me 1 on 1.

2. Camping - nuff said.

3. Chicken-shits. These are people who will attack you when you are at very low health, or dealing with several mobs. Then when you rez and find them...they run away like little bitches (PS this should be called the "druid rule" as they are the most frequent offenders).

4. Low level ganking - Level 80-85 people killing toons in Hellfire Peninsula...wow. Grow some balls and attack someone who has a chance at defeating you.

5. Undead Rogues.


TLDR: I'm fine with being PvP'd on a PvP server, as long as the person PvPing isn't being a little pussy bitch.

Leveling Archaeology was an excellent case study. On my Rogue, who was 85 when i started, i got attacked once while leveling Archaeology. This was by a 53 Feral Druid who was either dumb or dumber.

On my Shaman, who i started leveling at 80 and pretty much used Archaeology to hit 85, i got PvP'd by about 40-50% of the horde there, almost all were 85.

Not surprising in the least.

That's weird, even when I was leveling via Arch and was running around in WotLK gear, only one person messed with me the whole time...and they were, of course, from WeeR (rhymes with...). Messing with people who are doing what you're doing just creates unneeded diversions from what you're doing. I knew I wasn't going to kill an 85 feral druid at 83 as Balance wearing 232-245 gear, but I'll be damned if he got done with that dig site after he started his shit. Had to chase me all over the place.

Generally, you can tell the idiots that are only out to camp people with no chance, because you phase past them in Hyjal and Vash after a certain point but keep hearing about them in general chat.

There are a lot of days I think a PvE server might be better. If I want to PvP, I can always queue for a BG.

Yeah, that zone is dumb though. Me and a lock were nuking people porting in and typhooning them back to guards when they came up to us. Ended up killing a feral and ele in the water nearby with another sham who was nearby. Then I continued herb farming.

Killerpoptart had some goons from <Higher Edukation> attempting to kill people from the rooftops in Thundermar one night, so I kept blowing them down into the guards. If there hadn't been five of them, I probably could have killed more of them than just the BE SP they had along. Stupid paladin kept getting saved. No fun, no fun at all...except for killing the SP and blowing them off the roof, that is.
