The Dune series by FHerbert is probably my favorite, I got stuck somewhere on the Butlerian Jihad book and haven't finished it.

I think I'm going to opt out of reading his son's books. Just wouldn't be the same.

I'm looking/going to have to order two other books.

The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss
Hyperion - Dan Simmons

and I'm debating reading the second book in the Ender's Game series, the first one was pretty good despite me knowing the plot twist before hand. Only complaint was it's short I guess.

I'm currently reading Dune...but I find it hard to focus...the world is just so detailed and there are random political nuances I feel like I'm missing...so i find myself googling/re-reading thinking "wait wait...who is this guy?"

I'm also reading

How to Rap: The Art and Science of the Hip-Hop MC

Really fascinating in breaking down the craft.

I've run out of Terry Pratchett and George Martin refuses to write faster.

I reread Life in Hell by Matt Groening. Also, casebooks.

In the last couple of days I reread: The Grapes of Wrath, Listen, The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn, Tale of Two Cities, and The Wanderer. I am grading Academic Decathlon essays in a few weeks and needed to refresh the material and go over the grading guidelines.

For fun I've got Cleopatra and I am waiting in line for Decision Points, Spoken From the Heart, and Unbroken. I think my book club is going to pick up An Instance of the Fingerpost and the other is going to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It is hard for me though. I blaze through novels in a few hours, so I rarely get to enjoy them for more than a day. :(

Any suggestions for me? I really like books with "puzzles" to solve. I also enjoy historical fiction/nonfiction immensely.

Don't finish it too fast. You'd think that with two more to go after that you'd have a safe buffer, but let's just say book 5 should have come out three years ago.

Agreed.

That's a hot fucking series though. One of my favorites. Fantasy with a dark edge, and done right. Has a TV series coming out on HBO soon, too.

I couldn't get into A Game of Thrones; worth pushing through the first couple chapters then?
