Yeah. I dislike WoW PVP for a few reason, the main one being that I did it too much a few years ago. Another minor one (for most people anyway) is gathering a second fucking set for resilience (by PvPing without it, of course!). I don't like it, so I don't do it, and I doubt that anyone who knows me could seriously say that it's because I suck.

There's always been balance issues, and those who complain about that and nerfs/buffs usually aren't in a Venn diagram with the skilled ones. Remember the endless rage of the warrior community when Enrage was nerfed from 25% to 20%? "THEY HAS BUTCHERED MY CLASS!". The real players didn't give a fuck and kept on butchering.

And uhm, I wouldn't count either aspect of WoW as being some sort of ultimate test of skill in video games. PvE is fairly challenging in this expansion (meaning not piss-easy, I had the displeasure of playing the last 3 weeks of ShitKing) but this is still the accessible game it's always been.

Beat Demon's Souls and report back.

One of the things I like the most about PvP is that it doesn't take much time. On Alliance side BG queues are <1 minute, or you can just port to TB and PvP in the questing area. Much of my play time comes in small enough chunks that putting together a heroic group or sitting in a queue, then doing the dungeon itself, would be an entire evening.

Lol i hardly put forth my best effort on sindragosa the day before cataclysm dropped, and I don't consider it a ninja log when its been three attempts past you sayin "one more attempt."

Still, the best pvpers, like tuhl said about team awesome, were really good at pve too, becase back then you HAD to be to get the best gear. now that resilience and pvp gear have gotten so seperated from pve gear, Pvper's are less likely to pve as hardcore, and get rusty.

it feels like people are just more apathetic about the game in all aspects nowadays anyway.

Majority of the wow community will say pvp is imbalanced, but why aren't you tanking advantage of it then with some of the comps?

I agree.

Anyone who lost against Rogue/Druid in TBC or DK/Pally in Season 5 just wasn't trying hard enough.

EDIT: Half of this thread is Bleeding Hollow Rogue Syndrome.

I've honestly never seen you with a gladiator title, Necra. You'd think if you were half as good as you said you were, you'd have on by now.

PVPing as destro is the same survivability as WotLK except this time around you can't 4-shot anyone.

I'd actually wager that there's less survivability, because someone at Blizzard thought it was a great idea to give warriors Kidney Shot.

I have fought multiple gladiators who all thought I was bad only to find out too late how wrong they were. Just because I've never gone for Glad it's always assumed I'm bad. I just don't really like arenas. Most people who go for or even get glad do so by team jumping and running FotM comps. I've only ever done 2s (which of course haven't offered titles or t2 weapons or shoulders in a hot minute) and since s2 I've ALWAYS played lock/rogue with Dashe, regardless of how good or bad it was. He had to go Demo in s5 to survive the burst but eventually we got to where we could beat DK/Holy Paladin 75% of the time. Typically we just do arenas for points to get gear and aim for weapons so we can go out and world PvP, we have shitty luck PvE wise and/or don't do it. I mean, look at my ICC statistics on my rogue haha.

I mean if you'd really care to test the waters and see how good I am, you or a friend are more than welcome to try their luck. I'm sure there are lots of people who can vouch for my skill. Hell, despite me telling people all the time that I'm bad they insist on telling me I'm good. (Example: Killed a fury warrior with glaives on QD Isle and was proclaimed a god for like 3 hours in general chat. Everyone knows fury warriors were a joke then.)

Are you good at PvE? Using your logic, those with the Light of Dawn are some of the best PvE'ers yet you lack it and you lack even reg 25 LK which I guess would make you average at best. How come you don't have Light of Dawn? Maybe you'll have an answer for me because I'd like to assume you're a good PvE'er having been around since vanilla and all.

Maybe I just like to play the underdog or maybe I really am just that bad. Guess you'll never know till it's too late.

In after tldr wall of text featuring excuses.

I only read this line and I got everything I needed to know out of this.

Bleeding Hollow Rogue Syndrome is alive and well, folks.

PvE is a joke compared to PvP. Only exception to that is maybe heroic 25s and even then it's still all just scripted and you have to be on your game but nothing changes.

PvP too at some points can become a scripted battle but there's always a chance that's it's not.

Edit: Maybe Meowth will have some more input having done both a good bit.

If you really want it.. (inb4 positioning issue)

PVE: Scripted content doesn't necessarily make it easy. If you are only doing Normal modes or the cheese Heroics like Lootship, then yes there isn't much standing in your way besides a circle on the ground to make you move, some mob you have to kill quick, or whatever there happens to be. There are fights like Yogg and H Lich King where there is a lot of shit happening at any given time and if you miss your mark by even a half second or are a step off you fail and probably wiped the raid. If you know how to PVP decently you are already a better PVE'er because you are going to be more aware of things around you. If you play Holy/Resto you might be even better off because the majority of the time you are staring into 25 raid frames.

Obviously since nothing changes everyone knows exactly where to go and what to do so it's easier over time. Clearing H ICC and H RS in a single day makes for a very boring week.

PVP: A lot of people say "pvp is so unscripted anything can happen" when that just is not fully true either. When I'm raging in arenas I generally have a good idea of when I'm going to get hit by that Counterspell, Dispel spammed, Feared, or some huge CC chain. My problem is reacting properly to it before it happens or trying to get that last cast off anyway. Assuming 2s you probably know what Mage/Rogue is going to do against your team. The same can be said for some other comps. It's basic strategy. Obviously you can't be right all of the time and you might fail massively and get killed or let someone die. I won't go into RBGs since I've done all of 3 games.
