Mayo, since you seemed to not give a shit when I said Republican offices were shot at last year, I figured you'd be interested in seeing this tidbit since it's clear that Republicans can never be the victim of threats and violence from the Left...

Eric Fuller, one of the victims of the shooting who also campaigned for Giffords, was critical of Beck, Palin and other's on the right. From an article from Politico...

Quote:
“It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target,” Eric Fuller said in an interview with Democracy NOW.

“Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled — senseless hatred leading to murder, lunatic fringe anarchism, subscribed to by John Boehner, mainstream rebels with vengeance for all — even 9-year-old girls,” he added, referring to the death of Christina Taylor Green.

Fuller, a 63-year-old veteran, had campaigned for Giffords during her reelection and was at the supermarket for her Congress on Your Corner event.

“I would put Sarah Palin in first place there. I think, really, she should be incarcerated for treason for advocating assassinating public officials,” Fuller said in an interview with Media Matters. “That map I saw that she published on the Internet had crosshairs on it and one of them was meant for Gabrielle Giffords.”

]Turns out there was a meeting at some church in Tuscon. During the time there, a Tea Party Leader said something about any conversations on gun control should be postponed until all the dead from the massacre have been dead and buried. At that time, Mr. Fuller took a picture of the Tea Party Leader and shouted, "You're Dead!" Article

Those right-wing racists tea-party bigots are so hate-filled and violent, aren't they?

Yeah, because someone who got shot by the dude in question will totally give a completely calm, rational viewpoint on what happened in an editorial.

Excuses, excuses...just because it's understandable doesn't mean it's acceptable.

While Eternal's going off on the "Republican's get this, too..."

Bush/Cheney election offices shot up.

Republican Campaign headquarters vandalzied...effigies burned.

More vandalism...

...and even more vandalism...

...but Republicans/Conservatives are the ones that want to use violence and intimidation to advance their agenda? Let's take a look at who shoots politicians:

Leon Czolgosz: Assassinated President McKinley. His stated motivation? "There was a great injustice in American society, an inequality which allowed the wealthy to enrich themselves by exploiting the poor." Sound familiar? Sure does, but it doesn't sound like anything said by a republican/conservative.

Lee Harvey Oswald: Shouldn't need to tell you, but he shot President Kennedy. Oswald was a defector to the USSR and supporter of communism, which is about as far left as you can get without a prescription.

Sarah Jane Moore: Attempted to kill President Ford, and was a leftist revolutionary political activist.

And let's not forget about the bombings and such perpetrated by the Weatherman/Weather Underground, who counted Obama supporter/associate Bill Ayers among its members.

There are many more I could list, but don't, because some of those people were also suffering from mental illness, and including them sort of taints the pool. The point is, it is more than a little ridiculous to suggest that it's "the right" perpetrating acts of violence when looking at such acts from a historical perspective, since the majority of past events similar to this, bombings/terrorist acts, and violent overthrows of governemnts were generally committed by those on the left.

Which I THINK is what both sides are trying to get across, without accepting that our own side has retards.

The 22-year-old gunman had been bent on targeting Giffords since meeting her at a similar event in 2007, authorities said.

Does this mean we can't blame it on target maps, tea parties and racist republicans anymore? :(

I think we'd been trying to point that out for like seven different reasons already.
