i must be the only person who didn't think kotor was the best thing ever.

it wasn't a bad game and it definitely had some memorable things. the assassin droid being one of them. but the combat was so terrible and no fight ever really required you to do anything special at all. every single group was done the same way. that and my character was able to solo everything without even putting any real effort into it.

i think the only mobs that i couldn't kill in one combat round were bosses, and that's only because their health bar won't drop below a certain point due to scripted conversation.

hope the game does well though. been waiting on bioware to give me something as awesome BG2 again.

I do agree about the combat of KOTOR, especially if you went Sith. Near the end I could drop whole rooms with a single lightning attack.

However, the story was engaging and I wasn't compelled to stop halfway though like most games.

KotOR and KotOR2 are both games in which I got to the last planet and then stopped playing. I'm not really sure why I didn't just finish the games at that point, but yeah. Neither touched the heels of Bioware games like BG/BG2 or Planescape.

Though KotOR2 was made by Obsidian, and those guys were cool enough to make NWN2 and New Vegas (which almost redeemed Fallout 3 for being the shittiest shit ever shat out of a butt).

honestly the only reason I didn't play the original Planetside is because I didn't play MMOs back then.

I guess I still don't, in the sense that WoW is my only MMO. I blame Star Wars Galaxies for being such a terrible first experience.

Dragon Age was pretty good too, I felt compelled to finish it multiple times to see as many different choices/character interactions/etc.

Yes, I am going to purchase the game and play it for at least a month. The gameplay and story line will determine what comes next. I am pretty hooked into WoW and would probably not stop playing, but if this turns out to be a game I can play a night or two a week when not raiding instead of running circles in Stormwind, then it may keep my interest. At worst it would cost Blizzard the subscription on my second account, but thats probably it.

9 level 90s and 10 85s, Damn I need another hobby.
