Quote:
Kucinich's lawsuit said the Ohio Democrat bought the sandwich on or about April 17, 2008. He is seeking damages for "past and future medical and dental expenses, compensation for pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment and other damages."

Here's a hint: I don't hate this quote because it says Democrat.

I guess "April 17 2008" is not wrong.

Quote:
The lawsuit that the Cleveland Democrat filed Jan. 3 against operators and suppliers of the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria says the sandwich he bought there "on or about" April 17, 2008 "contained dangerous substances, namely an olive pit, that a consumer would not reasonably expect to find in the final product served."

It doesn't mention his inexplicably hot redhead wife who is like 3 feet taller than he is?

Also, he's suing about a sandwich.

That's entirely reasonable. If laws didn't require companies to pit ingredients they use in prepared food, they wouldn't do it any more than they have to. We'd have people choking on chicken bones and olive pits all the time. And yes, choking on a pit can kill you, or at least be extremely uncomfortable.

it was almost 3 years ago.

it was likely an innocent mistake.

this person now works for the federal government and should be above such petty bullshit(not counting the fantastic health care they have access to that would fix any "injuries" from a pit)

cowboy up and get over it.

It's the job of the federal government to enforce its regulations which ensure, amongst other things, the safety of our food.

that person doesn't work for the FDA, and isn't representing the gov't by suing that resteraunt.

if they wanted to do this for "the good of the people." they would go about it through different channels, and he certainly wouldn't do this while he's on the campaign trail.

this screams "I just want some moneys."

He's asking for $15,000. He chipped a tooth on the olive pit. I think $15,000 is more than reasonable. And while it occurred in a cafeteria on government property, he is not suing the government, he is suing the cafeteria.

Also, the only reason this is news is because it's Kucinich and he's basically one of the only honest politicians around anymore, so the media likes to take every chance they get to discredit him.

"Kucinich is seeking $150,000 in damages, plus interest and costs, from Restaurant Associates, which manages the cafeteria, and three other businesses that stock and help run the operation."

Still feel the same?

There won't be much left of that $150k after legal fees. He's not going to be laughing all the way to the bank on a five-digit figure.

If you want to do a shakedown, there's way better ways to do it than gouge some restaurant when your tooth really did suffer an injury. Representatives are incredibly busy people and there's better ways to abuse the system for cash.

I agree, however... "Kucinich is seeking $150,000 in damages, plus interest and costs" . So, while I'm sure he doesn't need the money, he's still asking for it, isn't he?
