So, given that it is Oscar season and all that...it got me thinking about FUBU. In previous forums I've been on, we used to do a yearly awards thingy. I don't remember all the specifics because I never ran it.

Basically though, you'd have all sorts of categories, and nominations ("thread of the year," "biggest troll", "funniest thread/post of the year", "asshat of the year"...whatever...the funnier the award, the better (idk like: "Jew of the year"...clearly Aestu and Quad would be in a tight race). Nominations would usually run for a few weeks.

Once categories and nominations are determined (we'd have to pick a host who would make the final call on what categories we should include...I assume Mayo might be best suited for this, but we could always choose someone else), then you simply make polls with each award and nominees...but you would set the polls to not be seen by everyone, I'm not sure how this is done...but I know it's possible.

An alternative to "poll" voting is to appoint a counter. Basically, everyone would PM this person with their votes and they could be counted. I would volunteer for this job if we wanted to do it.

After everything is counted, you make a thread announcing the award winners. Heck, bro's could even add them to their signatures.

The forum i was on actually had an entire sub forum dedicated to it...but we don't necessarily need to do all that.

IDK, I'm just spit-balling here, but I think it could be a lot of fun if there's enough interest. Thoughts?





P.S. Totally joking about Jew of the Year...but that would be a hilarious award. Don't get mad. I love Jews. Jesus was a Jew. Also I had some matzah once with jam; it was delicious.

Psht, I've had that award for 2 years running...no one will challenge me!

Oh well, was just an idea...will go back to my corner and cry now.

Yeah, I think that would be more up for the community to do..like zomg...remember that post?

Also, Tehra would be ridiculously good at that, since he remembers every post ever made. I'm sure if I asked he could point out at least 20 instances where each forum poster has contradicted themselves.

You're making this assumption that I have any faith within the community to step up and do something.

True, I guess that's what this thread is for...to see if the community would have any interest in this.

It would definitely be fun, but only if there was a lot of participation.

I think it'd be fun to do, outline some categories or something and see what others say

I'll contribute by cooking up custom titles for the winners regarding which FUBU award they receive.
