So? Perhaps they got banned as well, perhaps Blizzard missed their bumping, or perhaps the rule is inconsistently applied. The fact remains that Aestu did something he was explicitly warned not to and got a punishment he should have expected.

Aestu has collected his fair share of haters over time. If someone wants to be malicious, they can click the report post button and nail him on a technicality. One click usually isn't enough for a bump ban, but the mods definitely aren't roaming the boards looking to find Aestu guilty of a rule.

Clearly the Mod Squad swings the ban hammer around wildly and inconsistently - one reason why I haven't really been back to the official forums since my previous ban was lifted. Aestu did technically violate a rule, but he was only punished for it because he has butthurt a few too many people in his day.

The same thing happens in the NBA. Certain players are assessed fouls/technicals more than other players. It's the outspoken players, the one's who will constantly bitch at a ref throughout the entire game that will get punished the most. Quieter players might be able to get away with a little more simply because they aren't as notorious...refs aren't looking for an excuse to punish them.

Unfortunately Aestu, you will always have a shorter leash than many other posters. You ruffle too many feathers to go unnoticed. If you wish to remain posting on the forums, I suggest you do one of two things:

1. Continue to be your outspoken, critical self, but scan every post you make and make sure that there is no way a mod could ban you (could be difficult, since they apply the term "trolling" simply to fit their needs).
2. Keep your head down

One social advice is that when you want to correct someone, to just do so without starting by metaphorically ramming your fist in said person's face.

People usually don't mind being corrected (no one on this planet is always right), but when it starts with "False.", "Wrong." or something insulting, on top of never admitting your own mistakes or derailing to avoid as such, it screams "pseudo-intellectual internet troll", the common term being arrogance.

Not everyone knows everything, and knowing one fact that someone does not doesn't make you superior. An analogy is me being arrogant to an historian because he doesn't know Planck's Constant.
