Define better clothes and why "better" has anything to do with money.
Better to me is something you like or that is comfortable and often times neither one of those involve lots of money.

Is this to say that poverty is terrible? That lesser clothing in the eyes of society lead to poverty? That being thrifty is a bad thing, especially in this economy?
I'm not saying it's a virture but I don't think it's entirely bad.
In regards to the funny about dressing poor part, I'll assume it was made obvious elsewhere in this thread or in one of the links contained therein. I skimmed the thread for the most part so my apologies if my assumptions weren't on the mark.
