You gave a list of "me-centric" points and I'm just showing how entitlements can be spun to be just as "me-centric"...

1) Nobody ever thought this ever, and if they do they are in the minority.
What's the point of welfare, then? If an individual needs welfare then they're saying that they can't afford something (basic living expenses?) and they need other people (tax payers?) to help them out (aka, foot the bill?).

2) Fair is fair. Make more, pay more because you have benefited more. Taking more from the poor =/= fair no matter how you spin it.
You're right - fair is fair. If I have to pay for my health care then shouldn't someone else have to pay for theirs? If I can afford a nice car than I guess it's only fair that poor people get nice cars, too! Under our current progressive tax system the rich are already paying more in taxes than the poor. That's fair, right? Oh, it's not enough? You want the rich to pay more? How much more? How much more is needed to be paid until it's fair enough for
you?

3) Again, nobody has ever thought this ever. They would just like some help from their fellow Americans. What, is the GOP not the "patriotic" party anymore? Or does patriotic only mean war (bring it on, we're America!) and self (fuck you, got mine!)? If so, I guess you really are the patriotic party.
Yea, my original statement was in reference to you talking about Republicans forcing their opinions of gays. The irony is that whole discussion is a two-way street. While you say people are forcing their opinions on Gays on everyone... aren't the Gays forcing their opinion of themselves on everyone in an equal, but opposite, fashion? Fuck, I'm now a 'bigot' or 'homophobe' for saying that.

4) Fact - it's your body, do what you want with it.
Unless you want to kill yourself... or if you want your friend to perform some surgery even though they're not a doctor... or if you want to use a bunch a drugs. I'm not arguing for or against abortion I'm just saying the idea of an abortion is very 'me-centric', too.
Wish I could finish. Meeting time.
