Let's address this, then.
You idiots make it sound like the OWS demonstrators are totally uninterested in finding a job.

That's not a slight against the protesters, at least not those who are actually there specifically because they've looked for a job and can't find one.

The reason many of them are protesting in the first place is because they were force-fed bullshit for 22 fucking years about how they needed to throw themselves into unescapable debt in order to receive a degree so that when they got out of school, they could get a nice (read: not minimum wage) job to support the happy, tax-paying, law-abiding families they'd soon start.
Then they get out and realize "just kidding! You spent all that time and effort and 100k+ of debt just so we could shit on you some more!
I don't think anyone here disagrees with that. If anything, I think I've said it in general to all of you and in specific to you and Aestu more than a few times. Remember when I linked the stuff about how your law degree was probably going to end up being useless paper by the time you got out of law school?

Also, get a job flipping a hamburger you goddamn hippie! Don't blame me you're unemployed and miserable, it's not like we purposely stacked the system against you or anything, you lazy fucks! Here's some McDonalds apps, you would've been just as qualified 6 years ago and wouldn't be mired in crippling debt that you'll be paying off the rest of your lives, but if I'd told you that then, I might've passed for some semblance of a decent human being."
I think it is really fucked up that we tell people for the first twenty years of their lives that if they don't get a good education they're going to end up working at McDonald's...then seem to be at a loss as to why everyone thinks they're too good for a fast food job or that it's something to be embarrassed to be doing. That said,
some money coming in is better than
no money coming, and as fucked up as it may be, taking a shitty restaurant job will pay some of your bills.

But then, the only real difference between you and OWS is how much you can lie to yourself. You're an overweight,
That's the pot calling the kettle fat. At least I waited to be a pudgy fuck, and had the excuse of a life-altering injury before blowing my waistline out-of-proportions then further compounding that with being...

...as if not being able to keep/find a job is such a bad thing when you're chastising me for "mocking" people for not having a job. Maybe you want to imply that I'm engaging in some sort of hypocrisy, I don't know, but if that's the case, you're way off base. Unlike the OWS protesters, I wasn't camping in the middle of a large city fucking with people, I was looking for a job. Another big difference is that I didn't look down my nose at food service work and picked up the first thing that came along, which was a part-time restaurant job, before finally finding the really good job I have now.

accidental father
Shit happens. Having a kid didn't make me a father, though. Moving to this shit-hole to spend time with him and help raise him did. Otherwise, I'd just be an accidental sperm-donor.

who just happens to think that he enjoys the taste of rich people shit. If not for that last part, maybe you'd realize you're batting for the wrong team.
You know, after all the quirks and foibles you just pointed to me having, I'd think it would be obvious and apparent that I'm where I'm at because of what I've done (or not). It's not someone else's fault that I'm fat. I still eat like I'm 20 and my metabolism will burn through 2k+ calories a day. Rich people didn't make me fat. Rich people aren't causing me to age, and it's not their fault I'm "old." Rich people didn't make me leave any of the jobs I quit. Rich people might have been responsible for me losing work because of closures and downsizing, but how many of them were losing their asses when their businesses folded? How many of those layoffs allowed a company to keep doing business so that the jobs of people other than myself were saved? You guys never even stop to consider any other possibilities than the ones you're spoon-fed, like this "it's rich people's fault" bullshit. Rich people didn't sabotage my birth control, or force me to knock up my kid's mom. They didn't force me to quit a high-paying job and sell everything I owned so that I could move back here to be near my son.
In short, the only "shit" that is bringing me down and causing me to be the horrible fat, old father that I am is my own. My life and the problems in it are of my own making, I don't need to scapegoat someone else to feel better about myself...but maybe I'm just "lying to myself" by taking responsibility for own problems. Maybe every problem in my life really is the fault of some mysterious man (or men) somewhere wearing a top hat and a monocle.
If you want to talk about realizations and being on the wrong team, stop and think about how we got to the situation these guys are protesting. You and some of the other rocket doctors here seem to think that the government is the answer to every problem, but the government is as big a part of this problem as any of the "evil" corporations. It was government and business colluding with each other that has put us where we're at. It wasn't one or the other,
it was both. Businessmen wanted to profit and politicians wanted more power, which meant buying each other off with favors. A tax loophole here, a no-bid contract there, some subsidies where no one's looking, then all of the sudden someone gets a campaign contribution.
That only continues because people like you buy into the bullshit in the first place. You accept that made-up problems are real. Then you accept that only the government has the power and resources to solve those fake problems. The next thing you know, the government has dumped billions down a rat hole like "green energy," with nothing to show for it except some CEOs walking off with a payday while their companies sink into the abyss and the we get new words like "Solyndra" in our vocabulary.
I was absolutely serious about people on the right starting a jobs program for the protesters (and everyone else looking for work, for that matter). I was also absolutely serious that there is a lot of riff-raff mixed in with the kids who are there with a legitimate gripe about how things are going. Which is all the more reason to get those kids off the streets and into a job somewhere the hell away from the sort of retards that live for nothing but G8 summits and vandalizing shit while they riot.
