Also, I will NEVER work at McDonald's or any retail-ish position ever again. Telling someone who graduated from college to get a job is shit. Stop doing it.
This is where our generation pisses me off.
I'll agree...I NEVER EVER want to work fast food again. I did it for four years in high school, and that was more than enough.
BUT - If I was unemployed, and I needed money...and I was looking for work...I'd sure as hell take a shitty fast food job if it would help me pay my bills while I looked for something better. I'd do it before begging for government handouts.
If one of your only options for employment is fast food, then you are a fuck if you think you are above it.
Its like the first couple pages of this thread never happened.
No, they still happened. I was just expressing my opinion that "no...if you have no option but to get a fast food job, that means you aren't above getting a fast food job and you shouldn't act like a bitch about it."
Man up. Get paid. If you don't like the current job, then look for a new one.
Do what you have to do...but please PLEASE don't whine and QQ that your mommy lied to you and told you that you could be whatever you want when you grow up. Don't QQ because it's not actually true that getting a degree in anything will guarantee you a job.
If I believed everything people told me, without thinking things through, you'd call me a dumbass, right?
It's like that with this generation and their complaints about a rough life after graduation. Sorry your Classics degree didn't pan out...but you should have known that being able to translate Latin and list every Greek/Roman god/goddess has a very limited application to the real world.
Sorry your Art History degree didn't guarantee you a job making 100k a year. You should have known that your options were limited to things like 1. Museum curator 2. Starving artist
No one gives a shit about Modern Art versus Impressionism. At least not enough of a shit to pay you for knowing about it.
Sorry your Philosophy Degree didn't pan out. If I'm going to bring a person in to a company to make a shit ton of money...the last thing I'll have them do in the interview is give me a 2 hour diatribe on existentialism and Aristotle's ideas.
Sorry your Women's Studies degree doesn't entitle you to a six figure salary....we get it, Women's Suffrage was a big deal. But all the essays you read about women empowerment don't exactly mean you are worth anything in this economy.
MAN THE FUCK UP.
