When people criticize Macs they always have to go after the price point. Yes, it's overpriced and you're paying a "cool tax," your point? If it was too expensive for everyone, they wouldn't sell.
And the reverse of that is "but anti-virus software!". Protip, Macs are not invulnerable. The PC equivalent of a "cool tax" is buying Alienware and anyone who buys one should be made fun of non stop.

Again, the PC has the capabilities to do pretty much everything better in terms of power, customization, etc. but Apple has the technological novice user experience down to a T. You can't deny it. If you don't care to learn more about computers, don't want to troubleshoot anything, and prefer to let a 3rd party do all the work for you, the Mac is superior.
Windows 7 made just about everything casual friendly. I don't know what you mean by 3rd party doing all the work unless you mean Remote Assistance.

Also, in terms of synching all your products? iPhone, iPad, Laptop, Desktop, iPod, whatever? Apple is just much better at it.
Apple is better at it because Apple has a logo on those products. The rest of the world uses Dropbox or a similar tool.
My relatives use Macs and their rational is they don't know what a SUCH SEX LEG link looks like. My uncle paid $800 for a 5 year old mac and I facepalmed so hard. As for problems and calling random companies about some issue, nobody does that. You either pull up your favorite search engine and look for answers or you call Dell/whatever company you bought your prebuilt at and they either tell you the answer in 10 minutes or less or ask you to bring it in. Possibly doing Remote Assistance depending on who it is.
At the very least, if you want to use Mac OS, build a hackintosh. Stop supporting overpriced, outdated trash with a silver or white gloss painted on it.
