So, I my friends and I want a game we can play online together. Like a free (possibly crossplatform) online co-op RPG or something.

If I can pirate it and play it for free, that should also work.

I was looking at Neverwinter Nights but idk if that's what I'm looking for.

On a semi-related note, I'm debating trying out League of Legends. How hard is it to get started and learn the game?

LoL is extremely intuitive and easy to pick up but may or may not get old fast. It's a matter of preference. Certainly, it's worth trying.

WoW is unfortunately still the best of many bad options due to corporate America's abject mismanagement of the video game industry. Try rerolling/doing RAF, it has a way of making the game seem new.

An alternative worth trying is Guild Wars 1, but it is not intuitive and has a long learning curve. You may or may not like it, but it does have the virtue of being very different, very challenging, and much less contrived than most games out there these days. It is B2P, not F2P, however.

I'm not quitting WoW lol, just (once again) don't have the funds to play this second. I've already got an abundance of alts at high levels even. The only joy that comes from making a new char and leveling again is getting ganked.

League is a fun diversion, even if you normally hate DotA.

My only advice there is don't become a tryhard elite420xxgamer nOsCoPeZ faggot, but that shouldn't be a problem with you.

It's more the thought of taking LoL seriously. Makes zero sense. Everyone who's actually good at DotA plays DotA for WC3, and that'll never change.

I play LoL sometimes, been leveling a hunter on WoW but it's hard to stay interested when most of my friends don't play still.

Trying hard at what - playing the game, or the appearance of playing the game?

But of course you know what we really mean. I think you would agree I simply articulated it.

WC3 DotA is actually pretty dead now. it's nice to have customs hosted again instead of an infinte list of dota.

everyones on dota 2 now.

Do something productive. Seriously. Read, write, play music, network. If you've been playing WoW for as long as you have and still aren't tired with it, then there's no point in starting up a fresh addiction. Break the cycle by realizing that there's more to a WoW break than the time to play more games.

I say this not to shoot you down, of course. But after quitting WoW, I enjoyed --- and continue to enjoy --- what has been the most productive period of my life thus far. I'm not saying that it'll be the same for you; perhaps you'll get bored and relapse on Warcraft or another MMO. But the options are always there and you should always take them into consideration.

Well I appreciate you input. I wouldn't call it an addiction though, it's just one of the few things I enjoy doing. I don't play 24/7 or anything and I always take time to read or watch shows or workout or do other little things. I was only logging on a few hours when I was playing. So basically I'm looking for something to fill my video game void (that's not really a MMORPG). WoW was the first and hopefully the last (hence my not giving two fucks about any new "WoW killers" coming out. I mean, I've gotten a lot of WoW, both simple fun and complex growth. Hell, without WoW I wouldn't be here, none of us really would.

The first portion of my request was to find a game because my friend is bored of WoW and he wants a neat game we can play in between smash/music/hanging out.

tldr: I take lots of small breaks and do other things, this is just a void in my video game schedule.

All that being said, who's going to RAF me for LoL and what do I get?
