No they won't, Remember its Activision Blizzard, it is not a merger in the sense that they usually happen. This is more of a Marrige between companies. Like the more current Continental Airlines and United Merger. The best of both worlds are there. Though Activision and Blizzard Entertainment still exist as separate entities and as such Blizzard retained its autonomy and corporate leadership. This is EASILY able to be seen just by looking at the boxes that the games come in as well as on the books and everything else related to WOW or Starcraft. If you need proof grab a copy of Arthas, Stormrage, or Wotlk, the trademarking symbol is not Activision Blizzard, nor is the copyright. It is Blizzard Entertainment, and only that.
Sure they have picked up a few things from Activision, but not a lot, if they had they would not constantly be hiring customer service employees. Do you not think that activision can not handle that. Nor would they ever have removed, Shipping and handling costs from the authenticator, which, if you look at site for digipass, the thing costs only a few pennies less to buy from them than we pay.
Yes I know the controversy over Starcraft 2 being released in three games is getting to people, but they wanted this one to tell each story in huge arcs that will take time to play. I would rather have it that way then lets cut out this and trim that because we need to get it out on time. On top of that people complain about the micro transactions that are being added to the game. Well IMO no one should, they have been in the Asian marketplace for years, its a way of life over there in the games, Western Society has just not caught onto it yet. Plus they are not adding things in that will completely break the game play, Yes the stupid horse has a small advantage but its not a huge one. The server transfers and the faction changes they never intended to be in here to begin with, it was a process they had to pay people extra to do, and there are now many ways around paying. You do not want to pay to be Horde on the same server well here you go you can now roll horde on a PVP server anytime you want. You want a new gender, here you go you can reroll.
Finally my favorite complaint about WoW which was mentioned here is the graphics engine is to dated. Well IMHO and as they said back in august, its not really. It was designed to age gracefully and it has, it was designed so even if there are few polygons to play with a face lift can be done with a simple re-texturing of the scene. Plus it fits the series well, I mean look at Warcraft 3 and look at WoW, it looks like it SHOULD look to me. Also why put out a game and then update it so 1/2 your player base who do not have great computers can no longer use it. WoW runs well on almost any machine. I mean you might have it on low settings but you can play if you want to.
