No, I'm serious. I've been hunting for one. Apparently they don't make them anymore. I don't grasp how a civil society can not produce hardcopy maps of its own transit system, but whatever.

If you have a mint condition MBTA system map - the really large ones, with a blue front, they fold up about a dozen times into a standard 3x8ish letter size - I will buy it from you for 5000g.

Please send me PM or in-game mail or tell. Thanks!

I'm also looking to buy a PCI 802.11G card for the same amount. 5000g.

I have one but let me make absolutely sure it 1.) works and 2.) I don't need it

If that is what you are after I will test it tonight. It has been sitting in an antistatic bag with my old video card but it has not been used in two years.

Do you have an antenna for it? Or is that the slightly overexposed object below and to the left of it?

If you're sure it's ".G" and it has an antenna, send it on down!

It is G and the antenna is hard to see because of the black background on my keyboard. I want to double check it tonight. I edited my post about testing since I remember I had not used this in forever.

Oh yeah, I see it now. Sure, if it works, I'll take it - thanks!

Still looking for a mint condition, recent edition, MBTA system map.

Is there an online version available, and if there is...couldn't you just take the digital copy to a kinkos or something and have them print it out in the size you desire?

Serious suggestion, have you asked at South Station? If they have it anywhere, they'd probably have it there.

So, the wireless G card is recognized by the computer and will install properly. I am having a fight with the driver because it is a Dynex (Best Buy store brand) card. The computer I had this in originally had its power supply stolen for the greater good so I had to load it in another machine. If you would still like it and done mind a little time invested in a hunting a proper driver I still have your address, if not it is no problem. I do have the original driver disk but the driver it loads does not work at all. I also loaded the driver from http;//dynexsupport.com which seems to work better but will not see my wireless network.

I never thought I'd say this regarding Jubber, but great minds think alike! I had yesterday attempted to do just that. They said no because it was copyrighted, and told me to get permission from the MBTA.

Dear Ethan,
I was forwarded your email. Yes, of course you can reproduce the map for your own use. If your copier needs further approval, have them give me a call and I’ll okay the copy verbally.
Thank you,
Rose Yates

Subject: Dear General Manager Davy: Request Assistance With Maps

Hello there,

As you may be aware, the MBTA no longer produces those large, fully comprehensive, foldable letter-size System Maps. I have been struggling to find one, but in vain.

I am relatively new to Boston, having moved here a couple years ago for college, and I’ve decided I enjoy this city and wish to continue to reside here into my professional life, and want to get to know the city better.
I really wanted a system map so I can have it laminated and put it on my wall to help me plan my outings.

However, upon further research, I discovered those even better PDFs on the MBTA site (so that you may be sure which I am referring to, I’ve included them as an attachment). I decided to visit a local Kinko-FedEx outlet to have them printed and laminated.
I was told that they are not permitted to produce reproductions of copyrighted materials – including system maps – without written permission from the copyright holder: in this case, the MBTA.

My request is simple. Could you please provide me with written permission to have a professional copyist produce a single reproduction of these PDFs for my own use?

Thank you much,
Ethan Farber

No problem, now my OCD will take over and I will have to find a power supply for the machine it was in to see if it does indeed work in that machine before I toss it. The drivers listed are from 2007 and it may just not be supported anymore. Either way happy hunting.

It looks like you're going to be able to get your print. Gratz.

The irony of printing that as proof to get another thing printed is amusing.
